Well yesterday was a great day at the farm! We had about 20 kids show up. Thanks to Ellie Ryan from NABA for coming out and sharing her knowledge and stories with us.
We learned a lot about butterflies and their life cycles. Then we got to go down to the butterfly garden and plant some plants that she donated to us. We planted checkermallow, strawberries, lavendar, and oregano. The kids also saw lots of fish in the pond, and a bullfrog! The damselflies were all flying around and we even saw a few early dragonflies. The kids all had fun, and one boy, Eli, age 7, said "I'm having such a blast! Here I feel like I can do whatever I want." I'm looking forward to the next playshop, and I hope you will join us for it: Trees: Their place in Nature. We will be learning all about how to identify trees and how they fit into the web of life. Until then, here are some more pictures from the day! We hope to attract some butterflies this year.
