Details about Playshops
We have occasional "playshops" at the museum on various topics. These are on the weekend and are free; donations are accepted.
Pre-registration is required by calling the coordinator, Karen, at 683-8271. Space is not always available, as the playshops fill up fast.
You are welcome to bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and a camera. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please dress for the weather; playshops shops may involve outdoor time. You will need to sign a liability waiver upon visiting for the first time; we will keep these on file.
Dogs:
There is a friendly dog named Harmony who lives at the museum. (Sometimes the neighbor's dog is there playing with her.) Children should be aware of this before they come, and please make special arrangements for any child who is uncomfortable around dogs. Please do not bring a dog to the museum without special permission.
Parking:
There is limited parking for cars at the museum, and before your visit you should let us know how many cars you will need to park on site. you may also park along the pasture fence on the road. The walk to the museum is not far from the parking area.
Inclement Weather:
For safety reasons (big trees), we cannot have visitors at the museum during high winds, and we may need to reschedule your visit if high
winds are expected.
Amenities:
The bathrooms at the museum are port-a-potty type and there is no drinking water available. Visitors should plan to bring a water bottle. There is a hand washing station. There is no land line telephone at the museum itself, though the tour guide will have a cell phone. Please bring your own phone if neccesary.
All children and adults that are visiting the museum must have a signed liability waiver which is available here as a downloadable pdf. Also please note our Safety Rules Sheet which is a downloadable pdf.
Thanks and have a great time!
